Great content with too frequent frustrations
I come back to these great guys every so often because the topics are interesting and they usually share something interesting or insightful that makes you think. However, the amount of interruptions and unnecessary chiming in is immensely frustrating. One host will mention something and the other (sorry, forget which one is Jamie and the other is Eric nor do i know if I’m spelling their names correctly) will make a mumbled comment in an attempt at light hearted humor. It’s distracting and the last episode I listened to, the host said, “You’re going to make me lose my train of thought” and the other laughed it off but sure enough he DID lose his train of thought. It’s incredibly frustrating when I’m trying to hear someone’s thoughts or line of reasoning and someone jumps in to make some kind of joke that may or may not be funny but is 100% distracting. I just can’t do it and is why I come back every so often to see if it can be more structured to be fruitful to conversations. Part of their behavior is their schtick or purpose for their show. It’s quite apparent they view their callers as someone that can be a potential friend and wants to genuinely know how they’re doing and hope they keep in touch. That’s nice and more personal, but I’d rather have meaningful discussions where people can talk and not be interrupted by the nearly irrelevant thinking-out-loud host to make a joke. I don’t think these options are mutually exclusive, where it’s one or the other - I just hope the hosts figure out how that can happen. PS. These hosts are genuinely nice people, I'm just incredible frustrated about the pace and distractions for too long not to say anything.Read full review »

So happy to finally listen to this podcast. Eric has a calm way of talking and I love the crossover from the The Atheist Experience. Keep up all the hard work!

The hosts are brilliant in their dissection of fallacious arguments that people use to support their irrational beliefs. Eric and Vi are the hosts I have heard the most, but the others are excellent also. I appreciate that they are kind to people, and are not condescending. They are also...Read full review »
