“I love that I've stumbled across this podcast! I've been a Rik & Ade fan forever, and am old enough to remember enjoying ' Bottom' when it was brand new. Ange, Paul & Matt are clearly superfans, but it's fantastic how articulate and knowledgable they are, and how much homework and preparation they do for every episode. Listening to this is like hanging out with fun kindred spirits... and I really enjoy playing along with the quiz at the end of each episode. *Now I'm only half way through Series 3, so I don't know if this bit of trivia has come up... In Mel Brooks's 2001 musical 'The Producers' (but not the original 1967 film, as far as I'm aware), there's a gag about Adolf Hitler's middle name being "Elizabeth". The 'Producers' musical came out some 10 years after 'Bottom'... So does that mean Mel Brooks is a secret 'Bottom' fan? Or is it just a case of great minds thinking alike? I guess until we get a chance to ask Mel, we'll never know...”Read full review »
