Really enjoyed the background on a beautiful Victorian as well as the story of the Jim Roseland and how people meet the house of their dreams. Including the Land Bank function really serves the restoration movement as well. Good job with the interview and presentation!

Primarily awkward interviews where the host rambles and complains about the high cost of her own renovations and then turns around and talks dirt on clients who balk at high costs. For someone who claims to be an expert she seems to have very little knowledge.

Own a 1917 historical house and have listened to 20 or 30 episodes. Really informative and had certainly helped me plan for an upcoming renovation. Appreciate it, thanks.

I have a house built in 1919 (during the last pandemic) that needs some work, and this show feels like getting advice from a trusted friend.

I’ve heard a lot of episodes (and will make sure to listen to the rest) and I’m learning so much. It’s rare to be able to hear these long discussions about home related topics. Katharine brings on great guests and asks the questions I definitely want to know the answers to.

The house maven home renovation stories are just so fun! I love hearing real stories with all the passion, disaster and small triumphs and discoveries in home renovations. Just a lovely, laid back conversational approach.

Good podcast, but I can’t rate it higher because of the almost ridiculous price estimates stated in podcast (Example: Master bathroom renovation costs $50-90K, or a 14’ X14’ room addition would cost high $100-200k). Renovation prices vary wildly depending on the finishings of a room (tile, wood,...Read full review »

I love Katharine’s easy going interview style and wit. She and her guests are so knowledgeable. I highly recommend digging into these episodes before embarking renovations or just for fun. As Katharine says it’s okay to dream!

Katharine provides keen insight on the “ins and outs” of renovations. I enjoy listening to her guest speakers and learn something new with every episode. As a owner of an antique home we are constantly renovating and repairing so all of her advice is appreciated!

Katharine does a great job of asking the questions we want answers to and guiding the conversation knowledgeably and with humor.
