Chris flipped my worldview upside down. The podcast plus the book Civilized to death changed my entire trajectory. Very important work teaching human beings to be true to ourselves.

What another wonderful transmission from Chris Ryan - the storyteller’s storyteller, the adventurous vagabond, whose tales of first time experiences in Delhi will have you checking the expiry date of your dusty passport, and jumping online to check out the costs of flights to the Indian...Read full review »

I came across this podcast at a time in my life where travel and change wasn’t possible, but in my mind and in many dark lonely nights Chris would take me with him to meet many friends through his interviews, and was able to travel through his stories. I was able to dream, grow, and imagine and...Read full review »

As a regular and formerly appreciative listener, the most recent episodes have left a sour taste in my mouth. Chris has hosted a steadily upbeat, considerate and bohemian ensemble. He has championed a message about love and hosts an imperfect but wholesome dialogue about real joys, challenges and...Read full review »

The podcast I’ve listened to the most within the past 3+ years. Hours a day for a podcast addict like me. While living abroad, traveling, and otherwise, it brings me solace.

Love listening to Chris, clever insightful and not afraid to bring topics out into the open with his thoughtful spin on it all

If I’m being generous maybe one episode in five has merit. Guests with no agenda are sometimes entertaining and occasionally enlightening. Those flogging their book/movie/podcast are often tedious (although Ryan reads the books being plugged, unlike his douche mate Rogan). Avoid the ROMA rants...Read full review »

It’s hard to explain what this podcast means to me. On the surface it’s fun and insightful stories of life and travel from an older guy with a life rich in experiences. But through the hardest times in my life, this has been what I turn to and I’m always blown away by how much Chris’ words help....Read full review »

Just like to say Chris is Honest, sure u’ll hear stories repeated but u’ll hear that on the JRE too, but I’ve found an honesty that isn’t in podcasts, it’s raw it’s real it’s Hendrix. Take it ur leave if but I love it.

I feel like Christopher Ryan is a friend of mine and one of these days. I’m going to meet the guy and we’re gonna have a beer. Just a great dude with very great insights. Well, I don’t agree with him about polyamory I do love his general take on the direction of human civilization. I’ve never...Read full review »

Bitter man’s repetitive thoughts about the decline of the world, with increasingly more whataboutism and woo sprinkled in. I used to listen to this years ago, but have been disappointed for a while now. Downloaded a couple of episodes after not listening for a couple of years. No thanks.

This is my absolute favorite podcast. Even episodes touching topics or people I don’t find interesting at first turn to be amazing. As a former journalist myself, I was never a good interviewer and I know how hard it is. These conversations are food for my brain and soul.

This used to be one of my favorite podcasts but over the past couple years has really gone downhill. It seems Chris is now only putting in the bare minimum effort required to keep his patrons/subscribers supporting his vagabond lifestyle. This podcast used to be frequently interesting but now it's just tedious. And even more inconsistent host. I was excited to listen to this interesting author but was repulsed by Chris Ryan’s creepy questioning. I wouldn’t be shocked to learn that he was masturbating throughout their conversation. This guy is 59 and getting slimier by the day.
