“When I found out two of the biggest EU lore channels on YouTube were teaming up for a podcast, I thought we were in for a treat. Boy was I wrong.
I've never run into a podcast that spent hours talking about so very little. There's a lot of dead space as these two lore masters struggle to remember even the most basic facts of the lore, dumb jokes and chuckles that would make Beavis and Butthead blush with shame, and for all their claims about how much they love the EU, I've yet to see it.
Their "discussions" about the books provide only the barest outline of the plot, and the rest is all over the place as they discuss the travails of Canadian laywers, the best eateries in Niagara Falls, and different episdoes of The Clone Wars; what they don't discuss are the books, the authors, the creative process, how to retcon stuff to make it work; if you know nothing about the book before you listen to an episode, you will know even less after you finish.
If you want two guys high on their own farts, this is the podcast for you. If you want an in-depth discussion of the EU that isn't mean-spirited, look elsewhere.”Read full review »
