Thank you so much for such an amazing podcast. Funny and heartbreaking. It has affected how I feel about people living in the streets. Tara and George remained in my thoughts long after I finished listening.

There were a few moments I got so angry I had to turn it off and walk away from it. Only to return to it because I had to hear it all. Brilliant podcast!

I hope that the end of the 6-part series isn't going to be the last we hear of and from Tara and George. I can't imagine Audrey Gillan is going to abandon her friends just because the programme's finished, so maybe we can get an occasional update?Read full review »

Hooked on this just lovely people

This series seems mainly to be about Audrey Gillan. She makes soup and lollies and cakes for homeless people, and records them for broadcast when they cannot give meaningful consent. She asks them questions that seem only good for an internet search for information on these people, something that...Read full review »

Can’t wait to hear the rest of this series. The human connection that Audrey has with Tara and George, the homeless couple sleeping rough in her neighborhood, is compelling listening. She took the time to get to know and truly listened to their stories.

This is heart-breakingly brilliant radio, but also full of humour and wit. Tara and George pander to nobody, but Gillan makes you understand why so many people in the community care about them. Full of all the humanity that we need so much more of. I’m two eps in and can’t wait for the rest.

Loved the first two episodes of Audrey Gillan’s relationship with Tara and George. Life affirming, real and sensitively documented. Tara and George’s journey are in the safe hands of master storyteller and compassionate human.

Fabulously engaging series, cannot wait to listen to all the episodes again and again.

This is a tough and emotionally engaging piece of journalism. The stories of Tara and George don’t fit a conventional narrative, and they’re not straightforward, but this is an honest, often discomfiting attempt to engage with their lives. It’s a hard thing to listen to sometimes, but the natural...Read full review »

Listened to the first one on R4. Very thought provoking. Audrey has an intimate and very sensitive questioning style. I want to hear Tara & George’s stories and have subscribed to the rest of the podcast.
