Who Knew Burning Could Taste So Good? (A Long Review)
One of the reasons podcasting works so well, as with some radio shows - is that over time, you get to know the hosts. You begin to form a relationship with them in a way, they become familiar and soon become a part of your daily or weekly routine. That's what happened with me and Tastes Like Burning - I've listened for about six months and feel that I truly have been invited into the host's home. The only thing missing is that I can't respond to them in real time while listening. The term friend is so loosely thrown around these days, but I'm betting if I met them in person, we would become fast friends. The hosts, Tim and James - are a couple who live in Austin, Texas (the place I gather to live in Texas if your LGBT) and are just like any other couple who've been together for years. They both have careers, close friends they hang out with and as Tim says, "We're your average boring couple. Who just happen to be gay." Which is true, with exception to the boring part, most of the time. What I like about the show is that they don't go for the easy in LGBT podcasting: raunch, raunch and more raunch. Of course they aren't prude, it's just not them, as Tim has put it. They truly just discuss politics, pop culture, their own struggles as gay men and what's going on in their lives. A welcome breath of fresh air in this category! Give them a listen, I'm sure you too will get smitten by Tastes Like Burning - Who knew a burning could taste this good?!Read full review »

I listen to a lot of podcasts and raraly stumble across one where I'm so immediately invested. TLB are in my head! They can talk about changing out their light switches and door knobs for hours and it just clicks. Always entertaining and I am looking forward to hearing more.Read full review »

Quietly sweet and with desert-dry humor, the team of Tim and James offer up a delightful "slice of life" podcast that provides listeners with a glimpse into their life together as longtime coupled, and now (recently) married husband and husband. Yes, as in they finish each-other's...Read full review »

Tim and James are awesome. Two down to earth guys, sweet, fun and smart. I hate going too long without an episode. Perhaps the best thing I can say is ..... They're real people, no pretense, they give us a look into their lives and I'm hooked.
