An excellent companion piece to the books
Ten Very Big Books is entertaining and works well as a companion to the book series, especially if you have few, or no, friends to discuss the book with. I can’t say what its like to listen as you read for the first time, but as someone who has read the book, the format of having a host who knows whats coming/happening and three others in the dark works very well. AJ’s addition after Gardens of the Moon is a welcome addition. The change in format, where they change hosts week to week did not work for me, but that seems to be done to take some pressure off 1 person hosting every week so it is understandable. The added content after the read throughs of interviews and wrap ups and additional books does make this the best Malazan podcast.
