I just found this podcast(I’m a little late to the party) as I’m starting malazan for the first time. I’m about 2/3 way through dead house gates at the moment and absolutely love the podcast. The banter with each other is absolutely hilarious and has me in stitches constantly. Great great...Read full review »

This is fun and entertaining enough but, let’s face it, it’s a bunch of twenty-somethings enjoying a whole lot of banter and in-jokes while clearly not actually enjoying or understanding what they’re reading. Don’t expect enlightenment or deeper understanding, but enjoy a few low-brow chuckles.

I love reading but I’m not an English major nor do I enjoy picking apart every literary device in books to where it feels like homework - but I do love a hilarious and relatable recap and casual predictions or discussions about clues missed or different interpretations and that’s exactly what I...Read full review »

Just love this podcast. I have started Gardens of the Moon in October 23 and listen to each episode after I have completed the relevant chapters. I absolutely love it. Thanks so much guys.

Listening to this podcast is like reading my favorite books all over again through new eyes.

When I first started listening to this, I had lost steam halfway through Reaper’s Gale and was considering putting the series down for good. The struggles, good times, and friendship that these three had with the books convinced me to push through. Thank you, seriously — these podcast episodes...Read full review »

Ten Very Big Books is entertaining and works well as a companion to the book series, especially if you have few, or no, friends to discuss the book with. I can’t say what its like to listen as you read for the first time, but as someone who has read the book, the format of having a host who knows...Read full review »

Great podcast! Found it when I was on book 8, and realized that this was the only thing missing to the Malayan experience! Got a lot of hours of listening, and I am looking forward to every second of it!

I’m on my 3rd reread (re-listen? I’m an audiobook guy)of the series now and just discovered the show, serendipitously I’m actually right around where the group is at present. I’m a huge fan of the Malazan series and I know I’ll be re-experiencing it more than once in the future, probably...Read full review »

These guys don’t seem like they’re having fun or are even enjoying these books anymore. And while these books are absolutely not without their flaws, it feels like the discussions surrounding the issues that the series tries to cover are rarely constructive. At times, it’s like they’re trying to...Read full review »

I am on my own first read-through of the Malayan series. I love to listen to a season after I have read the following book because it gives me chance to make my own opinions and predictions, but also keeps me on the pulse of what is happening. Great dynamic between the hosts.

I feel like I do most of my reading in a vacuum as none of my family or peeps read fantasy. So nice to listen to this an feel a connection with other readers for once! Must listen to content for Malazan fans.

I’m a huge fan of this series and it’s great to be able to hear others go through the books and join them on that journey. The four people on this podcast are all very fun to listen to and they each bring something different to contribute to the show. They really put in good work to make this...Read full review »

This is helping me revisit the books without having to commit to a reread that would take years but India is a moron who clearly has never read a book for adults and though her perspective as a normie can be refreshing it’s usually annoying, also Pete is an SJW and it gets in the way sometimes of...Read full review »

None of my friends are fantasy readers so it’s nice to hear an actual discussion on this series. There are plenty of reviews out there this a read through. Great job! Plus Steven Erikson (the author) does a end book discussion with the group.

I’m not sure what the purpose of this podcast is? This is my 1st Readthrough of Malazan Book of the Fallen. I thought it would be cool to listen to this podcast as I go through. I listened to the first 6 episodes. The main host who has read the books before, Peter, is ok. However, Josh and India are awful. Granted, I’m still in the early stages of this podcast, but does India ever develop reading comprehension or the ability to retain information? This is a VERY heavy read, so having a fantasy newby (Twilight?!?) tackle this is setting her up for failure. Her cluelessness and...Read full review »

An engaging discussion among folks who are clearly great friends! The hosts are funny, light, and irreverent which is a really nice change of pace after reading hundreds and hundreds of pages of Malazan brutality. Plus the format of the show includes pretty in-depth (but quick) recap interludes that are surprisingly helpful for first time readers like me.
