“Thank you Matt for doing these wonderful interviews. I absolutely love that the ethos is not one of “Wow look at me, I went further/higher/faster and conquered x/y/z challenge”. Instead I’m really made to think about our precious planet and how best to explore it.
I just listened to your conversation with Emma Linford. What an amazing person. Fabulous interview. There is so much there to reflect on. I’m planning to start ML training in 2025 and now I feel determined to take on board during my training yours and Emma’s views of how to approach outdoor experiences and learning in a kinder, more nature-first way. Whilst Emma says she’d love a new syllabus, in the meantime I will see if I can still make my own learning more nature led by simply having that mindset and looking for opportunities to collect stories about landscape, nature, and places. (As opposed to reeling off names of flowers etc).
Anyway, thanks again.
I highly recommend this podcast to all who love the outdoors and want to help nature rather than take from it when we go on our adventures.”

My only criticism is that I find it odd that whilst guests often talk about the fragility of the earth and climate change, this podcast contains adverts for an airline…”
