Good Footy Pod!
A really good balance for the 2 Robbies on the TV coverage, the pod allows Kyle to go into more detail and is a great listen. And who wouldn't want to hang out with him and Lee Dixon when they're across the pond? You just know they're the pair having the most fun. Greatest Football Moment: Stevie G's Slip. I grew up loving football, watching Bundesliga on the Spanish channel with my Dad in the middle of the night since that was all that was on ("ayjugoelbalonaBeckenbauer...goooooooollll!). I started to watch English football again a few years ago, and was getting to know the league and the narratives and was feeling drawn toward a couple specific teams. I was trying to nail this down, as it fascinates me how people "pick" a team when they're not born to one. Liverpool was on a tear; maybe I was *gasp* getting on the bandwagon? Then Steven Gerrard goes down in that fateful match. I realised then that it wasn't the style of play or the history or the quality of the team, it was their capacity to suffer that I was drawn to. Football reflects the very best and worst in humanity; you put your best into it all season, and then in the width of one stud it's all gone. How do you get up from that? When you know what you'll have to face, your teammates' disappointment, the ridicule, the possibility of never getting your winning season before you retire ... all of this was so plain watching him lay there. And yet he got up. Liverpool and Stevie G will always hold a special place in my heart, and I love Jurgen and his heavy metal football, but for me I found a different soulmate. A team who is inexorably linked to suffering, upon whom the darkness lies so heavily that they've become a verb, with fans who care so much they earn pity and scorn from other teams' supporters, with a coach who you can watch on the sidelines suffering the fires of Hell with every bad pass and call and loss. And still they get up. That's right. I'm an Arsenal fan.Read full review »

More reviews of That’s a Dive with Kyle Martino
Great podcast.. Love hearing a little more insight from an American point of view on the premier league, being you only get 30 seconds to talk between the 2 Robbies. Even if we disagree on Ozil's importance for Arsenal. I fell in love with soccer after USA-Algeria in 2010 and Ian Darke's...Read full review »

Back from extensive training with a little, old green guy, Kyle is here to slice through topics and pick them apart with his suave hair and well-articuled thoughts on futbol with as much skill as someone would slice through a villain of some sort, with some kind of green laser weapon at his...Read full review »

In the last pod I could hardly hear the talking because of all the noisy hair scratching. Thus proving, that bald is best. So Mr. Martino, how do you like them apples?
