Description
I started my first product based ecommerce back back in 2016, called The Dapper Dog Box. I made 1.2 million mistakes with that business, despite scaling to from 0-thousands of customers and making hundreds of thousands of dollars in revenue in 2.5 years. In 2019 I sold the business and today, MARCH OF 2024 I am officially starting my next product based business and I cannot wait to share the top 10 things I would do differently next time.   Takeaways Takeaways Choose a product with high margins, solves a pain point, and can be put on a subscription service. Create a purpose or mission-based business to stand out and attract customers who want to support businesses that give back. Develop a clear marketing and visibility strategy from day one, including SEO, affiliate marketing, and PR. Diversify sales channels, such as Amazon, wholesale, and Etsy, to reach a wider audience. Hire a virtual assistant to outsource tasks like customer service and order fulfillment. Create standard operating procedures (SOPs) to document processes and make it easier to onboard new team members. Focus on word of mouth marketing and customer loyalty to generate repeat business and build brand evangelists. Humanize the business by sharing your story, showing your face, and involving customers in the brand. Work With Me: Grab my new book, Customer Obsession  1.
