Helped me realize that I’m not crazy!
I just listened to the episode with David Poses. This is the first episode of Addicted Mind I’ve listened to. Thank you for letting him share his thoughts on addiction and recovery. I’ve been attending a 12-step group for years, and I’ve been told that I need to stay abstinent in order to start working on my recovery. That has never worked for me; it feels completely backwards. Why can’t I start working on my recovery so that I can stay abstinent? I’ve brought this question to people in my group, and I’ve been scoffed at, treated like an idiot or blasphemer. Thank you for showing me that I’m not alone, that I’m not crazy or dumb. You’ve given me new hope and strength to follow through with a program of recovery dictated by my higher self, my best intuition, rather than other people’s opinions.

Wish I could give this podcast more stars! I struggle with sobriety and so has my father all my life. This podcast has given me so much information, knowledge, and language around addiction. Really well put together and good for days I don’t have the energy to read!

I’ve only listened to a handful of episodes but it seems like the podcasters friends or family made show...Read full review »
