Great podcast but some issues
I’ve been listening to this podcast for a couple of years. I was struck during my listening of the Mary Burns episode (Dec 2020) about the loss of her son to overdose. Why aren’t Medications for Opioid Use Disorder ever talked about? This surprises me especially in light of the overdose crisis that has been exacerbated by the pandemic. Why not speak about Opioid Agonist Treatment - the ONLY evidence-based treatment for OUD? On the episode I listened to today - the one about the Indiana State Museum’s exhibit called “The Fix” - your guest needs to clean up her own stigmatizing language. “Substance Abuse Disorder” is now more accurately called “Substance Use Disorder.” The term “abuse” has all sorts of negative connotations.

Wish I could give this podcast more stars! I struggle with sobriety and so has my father all my life. This podcast has given me so much information, knowledge, and language around addiction. Really well put together and good for days I don’t have the energy to read!
