“This podcast does a fabulous job of centering itself around memorable characters and illuminating moments in history. I've tried other podcasts (Revolutions) to delve into this time period, but they always seem to get lost in the details, whereas the Age of Napoleon focuses on the human moments, and how those are what create the context for what's about to happen. I also like @trillburne's dry wit.
I wish episodes came out more quickly, but it's clear that the author puts a lot of time and energy into the writing, recording, and editing, and as I'm enjoying for free, it'd be ludicrous to complain.”Read full review »

“I had to read several books a week in college for my history major, and it largely killed it as a hobby. The French Revolution was a major blindspot for me, so it was very nice to find a well-sourced, properly skeptical, in-depth exploration of that period that doesn't give in to pop history...”Read full review »
