“I’ve long been a fan of Steven Wilson, particularly his former band Porcupine Tree. Tim Bowness I’m not too familiar with, but he is part of a musical duo with Wilson called No-Man. They both grew up in the ‘70s and ‘80s, an era when the album - about 45 minutes in length, and partitioned into two “sides”, at least for vinyl and cassette - was the primary format for which music was conceived and recorded. Both of these gentlemen are bright, articulate, and very passionate about music. Both seem to possess a nearly encyclopedic knowledge of the music from the ‘60s through the ‘90s, and both enjoy and appreciate an incredibly wide variety of styles, from the biggest mainstream artists like Elton John and Led Zeppelin, down to relatively obscure experimental or progressive artists like Morton Subotnick or Magma. You may not agree with all of their picks, but you’re certain to hear plenty of engaging discussion and have your interest piqued in investigating some overlooked gem or maybe revisiting a classic band you didn’t think was for you.”
