Very solid podcast
I've listened to this podcast from the beginning, and I've concluded tha Shawn is a very good historian who analyzes his data before he draws his conclusions. While I my not always agree with him on all he says (I'm a believer in a strong national bank and respect Woodrow Wilson inspite of his character flaws), I find myself agreeing with Shawn more than I disagree with him. I fully agree with him on the concept of America as an empire and I really appreciate him using William Appleman Williams as one of his sources. I thought I was among the last dinosaurs who read Williams, but behold, there's at least one other person out there quoting Empire as a Way of Life and The Contours of American History. In hope that Shawn might also have read Williams' The Roots of the Modern American Empire and the seminal Tragedy of American Diplomacy, I'm proud to give Shawn a five-star rating. His Texas and lead up to the Mexican War episodes from Season Two and his early Season Three episodes on the turn of the 20th Century imperialism are rock solid episodes. Thanks, Shawn, keep up the good work and good luck with the PhD dissertation.Read full review »

Very liberal biased. So accuracy is certainly in question.

It’s becoming tedious, too many details, you lose sight of the bid picture. Who cares which colonel stood where in a battle over a bridge
