Excellent
Just as the film "Vietnam" is worth your time (streaming on PBS Passport, if you can't watch it each night), Alyssa Rosenburg's podcast is also worth the effort. Yes, there's vocal fry, yes, the audio quality of the phone interviews could be better. Yes, WASHINGTON POST, you should invest in better equipment for your podcast unit, given that podcasts are useful things and here to stay. Listen anyway. Watch the films. Learn things. I'd read Philip Caputo's memoir back in the late 70s, so I had an idea why young men wanted to go to war, and why they might pick the Marines in particular; but I had no idea of the events going on in North Vietnam, or that Ho Chi Min wasn't the supreme leader, or that Ho had originally appealed to Woodrow Wilson at the Paris Conference in 1919...Worth it.Read full review »
