The host kept saying “What an interesting story” when it was not interesting at all.

Even if it’s not a subject I think I may be interested in I listen to this podcast. Tristan asks probing questions and makes sure a new audience gets the info they need too. Always top level experts in their fields being interviewed. Great stuff! I had no clue about The Copper Scroll and find the...Read full review »

As someone who has a dream of one day becoming an archeologist, I find this podcast outstanding! I am learning so many new things that I never knew I needed to learn about. There are some topics I wish would get more air time, but overall this is an excellent, informative, and wonderfully done...Read full review »

Very much a favorite. Especially well produced are the Egyptian gods series. The myths at the beginning of those five episodes are spellbinding, related by a consummate storyteller with eerily gorgeous voice, accent, and cadences.

Truly the best historical podcast out there. Love Triston and his guests he chooses. I’m here in the states. Wish I could hear him and a guest live!

No more Campbell or Joyce. Surely there are other people to hear from about Egypt?

I love everything about this podcast: the topics, the light-scholarly approach, the cheekiness peppered here and there, Tristan’s voice and more. Kudos to you all as I look forward to the next “well, there you go”.

Hands down, this is my favorite podcast. Every episode is a treat. Tristan does such a fantastic job selecting the broad subject matter and the interviewees. The depth of detail is always perfect: deep enough to be incredibly informative and interesting, yet never so deep as to be overladen with...Read full review »

Love this podcast, really enjoyed the Siren episode, another modern interpretation of sirens that differentiates them from mermaids is that Sinbad animated movie, it depicts sirens as women actually made of water, there’s a clip on youtube. It also had a cool depiction of Eris in it.

Hosting quacks who denying Mayan & Aztec human sacrifice. An episode on cats from a man who sounds like he’s on benzos attacking JD Vance. Ahistorical and woke, what absolute garbage.

I have to be honest, I started listening to fall asleep at night, but I’d start listening and I’d get really into the topic. I’ve scrolled way bask to very old episodes and love them all so much! You got yourself a new subscriber 🙌🏼💯🎉

I’ve listened to many episodes and I have truly enjoyed it so far. However, I would like to point out one small mistake in the episode of The Great Walls of China. In this episode the story of Meng Jiang Nv (孟姜女) was mentioned. Her last name is not “Meng”. She is not Lady “Meng”. Yes we Chinese...Read full review »
