As an addicted redditor, I really enjoy /r/askhistorians. This podcast features the historians who make it such a great subreddit. The stories are interesting. The stories of the historians themselves are interesting. It is also interesting to get a little behind the scenes information on the...Read full review »

This show is a go-to for someone who's inquisitive about history and the ramifications of past actions on the present.

Obviously I'm not interested in all the topics (mainly like very ancient history, middle east and Islam) but what I've heard so far is so good. Easy to listen to, everyone seems really nice.

Askhistorians has always been my number one favorite subreddit because of its strict quality control and genuine desire to educate people on historical subjects no matter how specific or esoteric. The downside is that sometimes the really interesting stuff that you would never have thought to ask...Read full review »

This podcast is a great representation of the quality information available on the AskHistorians subreddit. I get a much greater variety of history than I most likely would without listening to this podcast.

This, like the reddit, is for historians, by historians!

I have been listening to AskHistorians since episode 1, it is now episode 57. Time flies with wonderful podcasts! AskHistorians is a podcast offshoot of the /r/askhistorians Reddit forum. Each week they interview a different historian (mostly professional) on a topic in their field of expertise....Read full review »

It's just what it says on the tin. Good interviewer talking to historians. My all time favorite podcast.

This podcast isn't for everyone. It's mostly unedited interviews with grad students, junior professors, and passionate amateurs. But the host is quite a good interviewer so if you're interested in history, you'll likely be interested in this.

My family is from Michoacan, Mexico and I've recently become very interested in finding out about the history and its native people. I have been having such a hard time finding information, I came upon this podcast by chance and was absolutely thrilled to hear the podcasts about the P'urepecha....Read full review »

A good history podcast, informative and with a nice mix of topics and good follow up in their sub-reddit if you have any questions afterwords. The only downside is that the guests have somewhat varied quality of microphones so the audio can be a little jarring at times.

Thanks for the wonderful discussions! In some ways this is better than the subreddit, in the way that it gives some knowledgeable folks a chance to go really in-depth on whatever topic they care to talk about.

As of writing this it's only four episodes in, but I love what I've heard so far. The audio quality needs work, but I'm expecting it to improve over in time (also, I'm more interested in the content). I can't wait to see how it evolves.

I like the straight dope, none of them frills and bells. My biggest beef with most fact-based radio shows is their post-production glamorization and their blabber mouth hosts. This show ain't got that. It's two dudes discussin'.

I've always loved the AskHIstorians subreddit, but I spend my days listening to podcasts more than I browse the sub. This podcast is a great mashup of the two. The first episode is great, and I hope it continues to stay that way. Nice.
