Embarrassing
As a loyal reader I had pretty high hopes. I knew it was going to be trouble when the moderator’s first question to a world renowned feminist was how you do feel about the man in the room. Followed a super odd comment about her beautiful accent (never would have asked a male subject) and requesting she repeat a word again like an exotic pet. The crown jewel of his blunders certainly was this: after both special guests thoughtfully illustrated their individual black experiences in the US, specifically the various micro aggressions they encounter from white people, the moderator explained how white people can be rude to everyone, even him! The moderator was embarrassing to listen to, I think he attempted to be quippy and light and it came off absolutely cringeworthy and ignorant.

More reviews of The Atlantic Interview
I only stumbled on this podcast a few weeks ago and now look forward to every interview. I appreciate the in-depth quality. I also appreciate how a question is asked and then the guest is given sufficient time to respond.

I respect what Jeffrey Goldberg does at the Atlantic Magazine, and am a happy subscriber, but he is a snide and cynical on-air interviewer. Though the guests are great and the content generally good, I find his tone tough to take, distracting from the issues that are being discussed.

Intelligent, respectful, insightful. What more can one ask for?
