I’ve only just found this by looking for a podcast interview with C. .N. Adiche, hence I’ve only listened to the very first interview of this podcast. They are definitely starting off on the right foot. If it continues as it has started, it will be superb. Chimamanda is beyond brilliant. Her...Read full review »

I don't see Obama or the Democrat party being a pro democracy organization. With all the censorship of conservative voices, the DOJ using resources to go after parents, free speech (Twitter files), pro lifers and DEI ( new racism) is what I would expect to see from say 1933 Germany. Was a...Read full review »

I really enjoy this podcast but I do wish that Jeffrey Goldberg would step back a bit. Especially in the beginning of his interview with Chimamanda Adichie, he kept recentering himself as if to prove he’s clever or cool... and from my perspective it just came across as disrespectful to his guest....Read full review »

Wonderful interview w Jeffrey G & Nicolah HJ I wish Jeff had interrupted less I am a Canadian - not a lawyer or teacher (so non-expert) We invest in public education provincially & federally - is it perfect? No. Is there still disparity? Yes - but the chances a poor kid or a First...Read full review »

Really appreciate most of Atlantic pod casts. This one about Amazon was pretty thin.
Felix5001 via Apple Podcasts · United States of America · 04/02/20
The host, Goldberg, asks questions then interrupts guest, Goldberg, 7 times in the first 30 seconds. Why have a guest on to interview if Jeffery G. keeps blabbing on with one interruption after another? It would be nice to hear the guest complete a single thought before being diverted onto some...Read full review »

Intelligent interviews with a wide variety of fascinating guests. My only wish is that each interview were longer because I'm always sorry when they end.Read full review »

I love listening to this freaking podcast! I can binge interview podcasts all day and this one is most certainly one of my favorites and I cannot more strongly recommend it.

Excellent. Even the junk at the beginning was relevant to the later discussion of the distinction between African American and African experience, self-identity, feminism.

Jeffery Goldberg was great behind the mic. He may have interrupted the guest one or two times, but I don’t think that inhibited the power of the interviews at all. It’s unfortunately gone though. Hope it comes back...especially with Goldberg gone from Radio Atlantic.

Active listening not just waiting for your turn to talk: it is a skill this interviewer could stand to acquire. Difficult to listen to because of all the interrupting and overtalking.

I only stumbled on this podcast a few weeks ago and now look forward to every interview. I appreciate the in-depth quality. I also appreciate how a question is asked and then the guest is given sufficient time to respond.

Like many others, I wanted to enjoy this podcast but found the host clueless about ways to discuss race. He interrupts often and makes it difficult for the interviewees to articulate their thoughts. Does not live up the standards one expects from The Atlantic. What a shame.

Judging from reviews it sounds like the host is the new Charlie Rose. I won’t bother listening.

Jeffrey Goldberg does a different kind of interview than others I listen to (Fresh Air, Diane Rehm, 1A, etc). He's funny in a very dry way and a bit snarky but cuts to the chase. I find his style quite refreshing and look forward to this podcast every week. I see some reviewers think he's...Read full review »

Jeffrey G is a great talker. His interviews move along at a fast, engaging pace. When he interviews someone making the rounds on every other podcast/new soutlet, e.g., Madeleine Albright most recently, JG's interview is always the smartest, most interest and the most fun. Guest's respect...Read full review »

Jeffrey Goldberg is really bright and knowledgeable. He’s also a sophisticated thinker. You can tell by his quick and incisive follow up questions that he thinks quickly. I’ve read the Atlantic for many years. These interview podcasts are as good as the writing. Listen to the one with Ta-Nehesi Coates for a great example.

I respect what Jeffrey Goldberg does at the Atlantic Magazine, and am a happy subscriber, but he is a snide and cynical on-air interviewer. Though the guests are great and the content generally good, I find his tone tough to take, distracting from the issues that are being discussed.

Come on, now. What did you expect? When you mention others viewpoints only to condescend not to engage in dialog, boys will be boys, and everyone knows if their behavior makes you uncomfortable, well, that's on you. I suppose you're right; Flanagan would be a good source on toxic femininity.Read full review »

A phenomenal podcast. Jeff Goldberg is a natural conversationalist (no small feat for a writer!) He manages to make accessible the intellectualism of the best egg-heads (and I use that term affectionately).

I love the relaxed tone of the conversations. At a time when it feels difficult to talk about nearly anything without it ending in a) groupthink or b) a fight, it's wonderful to hear conversation that rationally explores issues that can otherwise turn out be trip-bombs. The Atlantic editor is very annoying. He often interrupts the interesting and informative guests to make unrelatable and unfunny jokes. Jeff, stop doing that. Otherwise, I have learned a lot from the Guests— even when I didn’t know who they were beforehand.
