A long overdue deep dive into the genius of Ann M. Martin
As a BSC scholar and historian, I am relieved that there is finally a podcast that can shed some light on the obvious symbolism and religious allegory Martin has so cleverly hidden within the walls of the Stepford community of Stoneybrook. If I have any complaint, it's that Jack and Tanner have completely bypassed the obvious themes of life after death in exchange for bee theory(which of course, has strong literary merit). Ok dudes, Stonybrook is not on Long Island. It's "in" Connecticut. And the money is not pooled with everyone paid the same...they get paid for their own jobs and then pay small weekly dues towards club costs (kid kits, phone expenses, advertising.)
