“I understand that not everyone is going to share the same views as me. In fact, I think hearing someone’s view on how they see things is the best way to learn and grow compassion about the daily struggles some go through. I don’t mind a political debate here and there or talking about things that may take me out of my comfort zone, but Monday’s episode is where I draw the line. With so much political divide in this country, Davi’s (now deleted) tweet that had a sweeping judgment that those voting for Donald Trump are white supremacists and racists was ridiculous. Hearing the cast talk about it and defend her while she says she doesn’t regret it is crazy to me. Bert added his two cents of saying “those who are fiscally conservative and socially liberal” cannot vote for Donald Trump with the assumption that we can’t make our own mind up. This is a radio station that reaches all walks of life with all different view points. The media is partially responsible for the political divide in this country, and as a radio station they had a huge opportunity to change the narrative, however they did nothing but widen that.
I may be back after the election, but I hope the producers and the company in charge of this show know that forcing your opinion to people who disagree with you will result in them finding a different station to listen to. Y’all missed the mark on this, and I look forward to a day where 5 cast members don’t openly judge someone based on their ideas.”
