“15 minutes later and an entire group of people who get paid to play games can't describe the design of Pocket Planes, and how it DOES have challenge. One even went as far as saying that it's terrible because they "couldn't understand the mechanics".
JUST BECAUSE A GAME DOESN'T HAVE A FAIL STATE DOESN'T MEAN THERE'S NO CHALLENGE.
Play Animal Crossing (which they mistakenly thought was dead, it's coming to 3DS) and realise that making your town happy (in the town hall) is nearly impossible. It takes serious skill/trial & error to discover how to make the environment enjoyable by the residents, without a FAQ.
Pocket Planes is similar in that while there's no way to fail, the choices you make determine how *fast* you beat the game (cover the globe in airlines).
If you couldn't figure that out, then maybe you guys should learn about game design and play more games before recording a "Best of" gaming podcast. Having a vague line of dialogue does not make a game GOTY, and if it does, FEZ wins anyways.
