Maybe use a talking stick?
I really respect all the writers who host this podcast. However, they fall into the same trap of so many similar gaming podcasts, they try to fill every second with jokes and humor and each co-host tries to talk over each other. It's as if they have a fear of silence because it will kill the momentum. The result is that one guy can't finish his thought before someone else tries to make another, half-funny joke. The greatest, and funniest, gaming podcast was GFW. If you go back and listen to it, they really don’t make that many jokes about what the other guy is saying. In fact, they don't make that many one-liner jokes at all. They let each person talk for several minutes without interruption so he can develop a real thesis. The humor comes from the fresh point of view he has, not from the co-hosts riffing on him. Instead, Besties is a mess of quick jabs aimed at the guy talking (such as groaners like the name Hunters 2 being a sequel or a limp meme about Hungry Hungry Hippos). Those jabs just slow the pace of the show (despite the self-imposed time limit) and are noise that distract from the host's topic. I wish each co-host would let the other guy talk and let his thesis be the source of the humor.Read full review »

Let me first state that I have been a long time listener and fan of these guys from their Joystiq days but unfortunately this is them at their worst. This podcast is a joke and worst of all, an inside joke for their own pleasure (despite their listeners). In their defense, they don't hide...Read full review »

Honestly one of the worst podcasts I've had the misfortune of listening to. The hosts are all equally uninteresting, uninformed and totally uninterested in doing a podcast in the first place. Even If you enjoy irreverent discussions about videogames I suggest you stay clear of this hot mess...Read full review »

I appreciate the more honest descriptions(e.g. skyrim vampire dlc) as opposed to the competitive pitches which sacrificed an informative opinion for a biased attempt at winning an arbitrary game. Everything seems less awkward now that there is less emphasis on whose game is better. The occasional...Read full review »
