Without a doubt, the most common question that pings up in my DMs is about what diet someone should be on if they are struggling with PCOS. This population group often really struggles with weight, or difficulty losing weight. Thanks to our weight-obsessed culture, this has a huge impact on body image and self-esteem. Women are also concerned about the impact PCOS can have on the rest of their health, including fertility. The internet is a wealth of information but unfortunately is also rampant with fad diets and misinformation - so it's extremely overwhelming trying to decipher fact from fiction.
Today I speak with fertility dietitian, Alex Ballard (@AlexTalksDiet) who gives us a look into what is PCOS, how it can impact individuals, and most importantly for all those who have been waiting on this episode - what actionable steps someone with PCOS can implement into their diet and lifestyle to treat their PCOS, minimize symptoms and maximise their health.
