An honest, encouraging podcast .
I'm about half way through this podcast and needed to take a moment to give the creators Risa and Steve a shout out. The entertainment industry is full of heartbreak and frustration. You have so many people who claim to have the answers and usually want to charge actors to get them. It is easy to get turned around and lose sight of why one wants to be an actor in the first place. This podcast is a wonderful resource because it is full of realistic, candid, frank appraisals of this industry but is also encouraging. It talks about actors finding their own humanity, their truth, their genuine connection to storytelling and storytellers. It wants you to find your voice and release it to the world as a creative individual. There is practical advice that is given in the context of true behind the scenes experience. It doesn't paint a rosy picture but a realistic one. I also really appreciate how the hosts share their own mistakes and heartbreak. It makes me feel like we are all in this adventure together. What a refreshing change- to listen to this podcast. It was both inspiring and motivating. There are many great interview-type podcasts but this was an acting podcast from a mindset, craft and business perspective. I can’t recommend this podcast enough. Looking forward to the next release!!! 🙂
