Smashing Sorting of Sixties Smashes
After listening on and off to the first few seasons focused on analyzing the music of the Beatles, I find myself fully invested in following Gary and Paul through all of the UK #1 hits of the sixties. Discussions of old favorites and new discoveries that add new context and nuance to a fascinating period in music and history. Easy-going and somehow authoritative and self-deprecating at once, it’s a relaxing and enjoyable listen — with the added bonus of being able to cheerfully disagree with most of the rankings. Fans of the Beatles and the sixties will find much to love here.
