It’s a great idea - talking around the music that was charting through the 60s whilst the Beatles were rising. Love the format. You’ll hear songs & artists you won’t have heard before (unless you are very old!). It’s like listening to mates in the pub and you’ll have your own views - that’s...Read full review »

Garry and Paul…I’ve been catching up on Big Sort Out since hearing your crossover on the final (say it ain’t so!) eggpod episode. It’s an excellent different angle for discussing the Beatles, their music and their place in history. Listening to stories about your past, now I’m wishing I’d had a...Read full review »

Think this series (Series 4) might be the best so far. There’s a ton of Beatles podcasts, but not so many that put them in the context of the music of the day, which is a really interesting direction to take. The biographical and production deep dives are great - really enlightening. Though my...Read full review »

I really enjoyed the Big Beatles Sort out and reviewed it a couple of years ago. I wondered what would happen when the songs ran out and although I enjoyed the next few series that followed, this one is a very good idea. The context of the Beatle timeline with the other chart toppers of the day...Read full review »

Paul and Garry’s new jaunt through UK 60s number 1s is well-researched, fair and so much fun! I’d recommend this to any Beatles and / or pop music fans, whether you’re a devoted 60s freak or new to it. This is brilliant - fingers crossed they’re nice to Dave Dee, Dozy, Beaky, Mick & Tich!

I have followed Paul and Garry since their first podcasts and this new series is excellent- as always. I wasn’t sure at first, as this series is Beatles related rather than directly about them- but it turns out to be an inspired idea to contextualise the Beatles and talk about all the other...Read full review »

A really interesting look at all of the #1s of the 1960s in the UK with added Beatle context. Two well informed (in different ways) hosts who make it entertaining

After listening on and off to the first few seasons focused on analyzing the music of the Beatles, I find myself fully invested in following Gary and Paul through all of the UK #1 hits of the sixties. Discussions of old favorites and new discoveries that add new context and nuance to a...Read full review »

Good deep-dive into every nook and cranny of The Beatles catalog. I appreciate the honesty when it comes to songs that are just crap. Not enough people state the truth.

The whole basis for this podcast is deeply flawed from the outset but this is immediately addressed and frequently referred back to. Garry Abbott attempts to ‘sort’ The Beatles tracks (and later solo Beatles work) into some kind of personal appreciation order by awarding points out of 100 to...Read full review »

The Abbotts (Garry & Paul) have never failed to impress and entertain with their ‘TBBSO’ podcast however in my opinion they’ve upped their game even further in series 3 with the inspired idea of a deep dive into the ‘Beatles’ solo years… Each week a lucky dip(or otherwise) of randomly...Read full review »

Just started listening to this podcast and I find it enjoyable. It has been good at exposing me to Beatles solo stuff. I appreciate the hosts music theory knowledge, something I have no clue about. I enjoying learning more about the technicalities in music w/o it taking the magic away.

Really liked the random selection of 5 songs per episode and the discussion of the music, production, and lyrics, even when I don’t agree with the “scores” given.

Garry and Paul Abbott discuss every song in the Beatles catalog in random order and have fun doing it. Their brotherly connection quickly helps us feel like we know them and their analyses of the songs are usually insightful and informative. I have only come to their podcast over the past months...Read full review »

This podcast is a joy. The chemistry between the two hosts is fantastic. Always entertaining, informative and charming, if you’ve not listened to this podcast yet you are in for such a treat. WARNING: Some episodes may contain Rutles.

This is brilliant for Beatle heads like me. The two chaps are personable and clearly know a lot about music – the making of it and many other aspects. It’s wonderfully anoraky and makes you want to go and listen to the Beatles straight away. Highly recommended.

I’ve listened to a number of Beatles podcasts for several years and I’m kicking myself that I’ve just discovered this utter gem. Still, better late than never. And I have over THIRTY to listen to! The bonus of being a latecomer....

There are (probably) too many Beatles podcasts (I think I follow nine) but this should definitely be on your list. A random pick of five songs, rated using the show’s peculiar algorithm, is just the starting point for a lovely, good humoured discussion of The Beatles and why they are (probably)...Read full review »

A great personal take on The Beatles, song by song, by a fan who has recruited his very knowledgeable brother to give context and background info on each number. A great chance to think about every single Beatles song released during their career Well worth following, as much for the loving,...Read full review »

This podcast makes me look forward to Monday mornings! I love the fact that contributor and ‘resident Beatles expert’ Paul is disdainful of host Garry’s scoring methodology 😂, the ‘On This Beatles Day’ at the start is great fun and Garry and Paul’s music knowledge is evident throughout Garry’s...Read full review »

A great podcast. We all have our favourites and it’s great to agree/disagree with the ratings. It certainly is making me listen to a lot more Beatles again!
