“I liked this podcast at first, but the more I listen to it, the more it seems aimed at people who are Canada’s “average.” Most recently, an episode focused on landlords who can’t evict tenants fast enough. Only 66% of Canadians are homeowners, and every city in the country has a shortage of rentals. Homelessness is a real possibility/reality for an increasing number of people, including those who are middle & upper-middle income, which leaves nothing for those who are low income. Focusing on a few homeless landlords is akin to wearing blinders, when there are hundreds of thousands of people who, despite making as much as a homeowner, simply can’t live where they need to, to commute to a job, be in their child’s school district, etc.”
