I used to love this podcast and I think that there are occasionally good stories that I’m interested in and Jordan is still a great host, but why am I sifting through 6+ minutes of ads?!?! And the episode length hasn’t changed much so that must mean the content is being cut too. It’s not as...Read full review »

Jordan and his team cover wide ranging important news and societal issues. They do so in a well balanced approach, carefully presenting both sides of the coin. Intelligent journalism, very well done. Serge Michaud, Vernon BC

I enjoy the show in general. It’s great content and I was even contemplating subscribing so I could skip over the ads. However, I haven’t subscribed because the episodes are too short and isn’t the show owned by Rogers, which already takes so much of my money. The ads are too much and almost...Read full review »

I’m a big fan of the New York Times podcast, “Daily”. I regard The Big Story podcast the Canadian version “Daily “

Excellent overview of the dire situation of all aspects of the Ontario education system. More regular and detailed reporting must be done to bring this highly important issue to the forefront. A broken school system has severe consequences for all Ontarians and we need to collectively demand that...Read full review »

Joy joy joy identity politics, she wants socialism- get in the breadline with Harris. I gave this a 5 star. The main stream media is overplaying us. However who isn’t? What a wonderful podcast. Also, these protest are being paid for. That has been determined. We see Canada too, no one wants to...Read full review »

I liked this podcast at first, but the more I listen to it, the more it seems aimed at people who are Canada’s “average.” Most recently, an episode focused on landlords who can’t evict tenants fast enough. Only 66% of Canadians are homeowners, and every city in the country has a shortage of...Read full review »

I really appreciate the approach, which is to have a conversation with an expert, standing in for the listener by asking the sort of questions we would ask.

I listen to a lot of information podcasts - this one may be the best, in terms of the breadth of topics, and relevance to life matters. This week, for example: - The recent, and long awaited decrease in Bank of Canada interest rate, how (and how not) general and property inflation may be affected...Read full review »

Extremely deceiving episode of heat pumps as being carbon-free. The electric grid is powered by burning coal, natural gas, nuclear and very little by unreliable renewables (solar, wind, etc.). With electric vehicles predicted to bring down the electric grid if everyone got an electrical vehicle....Read full review »

It was the “in this economy?!” Project that has gotten me into this podcast. It and the rest of the podcast is informative, interesting thoughtful. Keep up the good work, really enjoying your work.

I so appreciated what your guest had to say about what’s really going on with the student protests in the US. Compared to the other coverage, this interview felt grounded and realistic and changed my perspective. No one seems to be offering nuanced reporting about these kids/very young adults who...Read full review »

I really enjoyed your interview with Prime Minister Justin Trudeau. Well done Jordan! The topics discussed were very relevant and timely and I felt that the Prime Minister answered your questions in a thoughtful and meaningful way. Most days I think this is a pretty good podcast. But the report on Bill 124 had an odd moment. In response to a direct question about why the courts found the Bill unconstitutional, the answer was a mishmash of entitlement and opinions about rights. The correct answer is that collective...Read full review »

I’ve been a listener for a few years now and I can say it’s my favourite way to stay informed about what is going on in Canada! Even when there are difficult or worrying topics, I feel like the tone stays balanced and that Jordan and his guests manages to steer away from fear mongering.

Have been listening to this podcast since the pandemic. I have always enjoyed Jordan’s interviewing skills. He’s thoughtful, candid and keeps topics moving. Thanks for an informative Canadian focused news podcast. I have recommended this show to many friends of mine, and they’ve enjoyed it too.

Parental rights episode is biased. No perspectives of parents was shared or discussed. After all it’s the parents who are responsible for and provides for the children. We need to be very careful and scientific as children are our future generation and can’t go wrong.

I teach a course on current political events (17-19 year old students) and this is one of my go-to podcasts to prepare them for discussions. Reputable sources clearly explained in an engaging manner. You can’t beat The Big Story!

I like this podcast but the most recent episode starts off full of inaccuracies. It talks about Paris Hilton on Jimmy Kimmel in 2002… then plays a clip of Paris Hilton on Jimmy Fallon in 2022. I’d love to hear basic facts stated correctly to lend credibility to the rest of the reporting.

I find this podcast to be a form of laundering think tank opinion with specific political goals, and as such it is completely unconcerned about the truth. Pretty insulting to listen to honestly.
