“I listen to a lot of information podcasts - this one may be the best, in terms of the breadth of topics, and relevance to life matters.
This week, for example:
- The recent, and long awaited decrease in Bank of Canada interest rate, how (and how not) general and property inflation may be affected - this could have gone a bit deeper into advice for homeowners looking to renew/start a mortgage in the next couple of months - the interviewee did touch on this, mentioning that the next rate review will be in the summer (it’s July), and that it’s likely to continue to decrease, and that a lot of people have gone to fixed rates, (because this is what lenders are promoting) - but there are variable rates to be had - we’ll be renewing at 5.7% variable (Prime - 1.25%)
- A possible breakthrough for treatment of ALS in 3-5 years - this is stunning
- Heat pumps and their role in environmental solutions (more information on their availability, costs, rebate programs in Canada would be great)”
