Over it
I loved this podcast. I really did. But the negativity of the host Rosie has become increasingly grating - I believe that we're supposed to find it funny and believe that she and Laura are friends, but all I hear is someone laughing about dragging another human being down. I just decided I couldn't do it anymore during the Gilmore Girls episode - not because I disagree with their views, but because Rosie, the negative, nasty one, decided to criticise a character for being awful to other people. Apparently these two (white) women are the self-appointed diversity police too, holding everyone up to the highest standards. How is a shot of Lane Kim's dad racist? The running joke for seven years was that we didn't see his face; now, as a callback, we see his face for the first time and guess what? He's Korean. Like he was meant to be. And that, according to this podcast, is racist. Honestly, if they can go back to how it used to be, talking about television (and social issues too, I'm all up for that), I would love to resubscribe. But listening to The Binge has become increasingly frustrating and dispiriting. And Laura Brodnick - the show was better when you hosted. A lot of people like to hear positivity, so you keep doing your thing, and I'll come back.Read full review »
