The Bitter Southerner breaks down how being Southern both is and is not a defining characteristic. While Southern culture is deeply rooted in our psyche and behaviors, we do not have to bow to the rest of the country’s incorrect opinion of us Southerners. The road that brought us here is defined by suffering and cruelty, but the road ahead we can define ourselves with hope for a Better South.
