I love that this podcast explores the complexity and the diversity of the Asian American experience. I find comfort and solidarity in listening to stories that are both like — and unlike — my own. Asian stories are American stories, and I’m so glad this podcast exists to share them with the world!

I can’t believe I waited this long to listen to this podcast! It’s a precious gem amongst the many many podcasts out there. Thoughtfully written and recorded by Shin Yu Pai, Seattle’s current poet laureate; each episode is its own unique work of prose that illuminates a facet of American life...Read full review »

After discovering this podcast earlier this year, I eagerly made my way through each episode. As a longtime Seattleite and Asian-American, this is the podcast I’ve been waiting for. My only note is that the seasons are too short, while the stories to tell are vast & inexhaustible. I’m...Read full review »

I was deeply moved by the episode on Voice. I found the guest, Alice Wong, to be inspiring, and I loved how thoughtful and nuanced the episode was - how it explored, not only the physical voice, but the evolution of, and the notion of voice itself. I especially appreciated Shin Yu’s insights at...Read full review »

I fall in love with every person featured, every story. The soundtrack matches the vibe so well, and I feel connected to people I’ll likely never even meet. I’ve relistened to episodes on days I feel alone or detached from my own communities.

Wonderful, “Book”. I can’t help but Mention Chin Music Press, a Seattle publisher of Asian American authors located in the Pike Place Market!🇯🇵

These stories and contributions/conversations with guests are brilliant. Voices are beyond engaging; one feels in the room. I have a daughter-in-law, from China—but (!) she & her sister, both from different provinces, were adopted by a Mid-Western, privileged, white, catholic, U.S., GOP,...Read full review »

Shin Yu is a thoughtful and intelligent host. It’s so refreshing to have a podcast centered on Asian American voices who share their experiences about important objects in their lives. Thoroughly engaging and thought provoking. I especially enjoyed the The Miso & Dakin Drooper Dog episodes.

I would say this a perfect storytelling podcast, highly recommend!!! . The creator and host, Shin Yu Pei, is an inquisitive and curious interviewer. What she uncovers as she walks and talks with her interviewees, is what an archaeologist does, finding jewels in the ruins. Her questions and...Read full review »
