“Your « discussion » of Blood Meridian really made me worry about the students you’re responsible for.
Focusing on the superficial presence of violence and rejecting any potential value in the story simply because the « underlying world view/philosophy” is something you don’t agree with/upsets you is the opposite of proper intellectual evaluation.
If you knew anything about critical analysis, you’d know that good investigation begins with a charitable reading and ends with an evaluation.
Wasted opportunity.
