Brain Warriors Way -Forgiveness
I just listened to the segment on forgiveness and was amazed and validated with the physiological connections of the body to our state of mind. Thirteen years ago, my 21 year old son was murdered. He was a victim of a robbery. The next six years after his death, I was grieving and seeing the world thru some very dark and distorted lenses. When I realized my anger and unforgiveness was sabotaging my opportunities for success and happiness, I decided to relinquish my right for revenge to God and our justice system. The result was a sense of freedom and increased energy. I no longer felt responsible to hate the murderer and make sure he suffered (he had been serving 5 years in prison then). I focused on loving others and being the best person I could be. Forgiveness is not easy. I would make the decision to forgive, but then I would take it back and brood. This happened about a dozen times over a 2 1/2 year period trying to forgive. Forgiveness is a decision, not an emotion. I have choosen not to share my decision to forgive with the murderer. I think that if God and a few others know it, that is what is important. I am happier and healthier now. My memory and work performance has improved. I believe this change may have influenced my daughter as well, she is happier and more outgoing too. The Brain Warrior's Way explains how this happens and gives insight into how to improve our lives starting from where we are at. I love the simple yet comprehensive approach Daniel and Tana Amen present this crucial information. LCMRead full review »
