Not sure how a Welshborn Oregonian lawyer made one of the best podcasts out there, but he did! Everyone needs a listen!

One of my favorite podcasts. Thoughtful, informative, and sometimes has me absolutely guffawing with laughter.

As a pretty big history geek I absolutely love the detailed accounts and facts that provide a good understanding about the subject, compared to other history podcasts that I have listened to you are definitely one of the best. Great work keep it up 👍

This probably the best History podcast I have heard. Very informative and the way it’s given makes you want to hear more. Jamie has a passion for the material and put his own personal stamp on it. Favorite episode was the one on Boudica.

I really enjoy this podcast. The amount of work he is putting into this is evident. It is a ton of information but is distilled down to manageable segments. I have found it very helpful when something sparks my curiosity about British history. I can dip into an episode or two and scratch that...Read full review »

A truly enthralling and enjoyable podcast. The time and work Jamie and Zee put in is incredible and completely pays off as I’m constantly learning new things about a period of British history I’ve always had an interest in. I fondly remember binging on the series, particularly when walking my dog...Read full review »

I don’t really like podcasts. This one is amazing. I ran out of new episodes, and since all other history podcasts sound like a nerd reading a Wikipedia page, I think I’m just gonna start all 450 episodes over again.

This is a great podcast for anyone interested in British history. I live in the UK and did history at school but did not know a fraction of the fascinating detail in this podcast. It is great to hear about Hereford where I live. Jamie must do an incredible amount of research and put in a...Read full review »

I like the podcast I like the detail and I like Jamie‘s general and enthusiasm for what he’s talking about. But as some others have said in the reviews it’s very clear that Jamie judges history through his modern lens of political and social beliefs. Which to be fair isn’t necessarily wrong but...Read full review »

I Love going to sleep listening to this podcast and wake up and go to school and be the best at history in my class by knowing the facts in so much detail

I always skipped the Time Team episodes about the Saxons. After listening to Jamie talk about their history & culture, I’ll rewatch and understand them now. A really fantastic podcast.

Jamie, I’m gonna need you to stay very healthy because at this rate, you’ll be 104 when you reach WWII, and I am here for it! I’m visiting the UK next week, and thanks to you, The British Museum (hello, Sutton Hoo) and Winchester Cathedral are must-sees that I would otherwise have likely...Read full review »

This was once a really good podcast. Then he decided to divorce his wife to marry one of his young ‘fans’. Since then, this has really gone downhill. Don’t waste your time or especially your money. Content has gone downhill. Now increasingly more woke. Unfortunately, Jamie has become very...Read full review »

The production is good and Jamie is a talented podcaster. However he does not have the ability to separate his own views about the politics in our late modern era from the story of British History. Maybe that would be tolerable in the late modern era of British history but he’s still in the early...Read full review »

I’ve listened to a lot of History podcasts. This is one of the best I’ve heard in a long time. Great job and keep ‘em coming! On a random note, this show also has some of the best mic drop moments for a history podcasts. Season 8, episode 373, 6:05

If it wasn’t for the liberal judgments and virtue signaling I would definitely subscribe. Recordings are either repetitive or drawn out to make up for the irregular gaps in material. It’s become more of a woke conformist soap box.

Jaimie moves slowly through time and covers every detail and source. This podcast spoiled me on other podcasts because it’s so thorough and ad free.

Great episode as always but you might want to edit out the reference to snakes because I’m pretty sure Britain has never had snakes.

I was about to write, that beyond the subject and presentation, the podcast gives the layman insight in how the work of a historian proceeds. Not surprisingly this podcast uses first sources. This would not be surprising, but a great deal of the historical record has been destroyed by the...Read full review »

Jamie’s podcast is one of the best I’ve heard for a long time, I’m currently on ep19 and his use of comedy, accurate historical information and the hatred of ‘the eagle’, makes me binge the next, then next, then just one more episode. This podcast presents highly-researched material in a lively, irreverent fashion.
