“This is a really interesting podcast, delivered in a way which keeps my attention. The presenter tries to keep a balanced view of the historical sources available, and simply presents the information available rather than put a particular spin on events.
There's a bit of humour, and the website helps you to follow events with extra visual resources.
It also covers a large piece of European history which is often missing from lectures and books, and shows Bulgaria - an often-forgotten and ignored part of the world - to have had a much bigger impact than it gets credit for.
