Country over party!
Opening ourselves to informed alternative perspectives is essential to democracy. Building bi-partisan coalitions is urgent if we are going to preserve our constitutional republic. The Bulwark Podcast is doing these things. Its de facto motto could be “country over party.” Charlie Sykes and his guests speak in knowledgeable and self-critical ways about various current events in American politics. They do so largely from a moderate conservative perspective, but Sykes also involves liberal commentators in the discussion as well. The segments are brief, historically informed, and drip with expertise. In this way, the Bulwark elevates the tone of political discourse. It also provides insights into the thinking of our fellow citizens who may have different partisan affiliations. If you are sincerely interested in American national politics, you really ought to consider the Bulwark.
