Great! But…
I’m a lot dismayed by the lack of enthusiasm for declassified WW2 documentation on the part of our self described seasoned BBC news journalist. She literally poo poos the archives in the second episode by asking if there’s any value in going into these documents to find out information…. What?! For somebody trying to solve an historical whodunnit this is a dismal attitude towards the gold mine of evidence and unknown details. I’m less sure of her aptitude for this particular case now. Fascinating stuff though and well told. I love this stuff and I’d love to go searching within old documents on WW2. What a shame that this journalist is so ignorant about this subject. I’m with the guy at the end of episode two who sighs loudly and needs “breaks” due to her being unprepared to interview him on the history of Bulgaria because she’s “unfamiliar with the minutiae”, but my guess is that she was asking questions that have already been answered and established. Love the long sigh, my sentiments indeed sir. 😂 Let’s hope this series can overcome this strange assignment of someone who is not used to researching history.
