Interesting subject but could have been half the length and the dramatic presentation was very off putting

Thank you for the beautiful, honest storytelling - an intriguing and moving story. Appreciated the humour as well.

I know very little about Bulgaria and little of the history behind this story, so it was a fascinating story. The podcast is excellently produced and presented. And there are more twists and turns than a twisty turnny thing.

Couldn’t wait for each episode. So good. I’m sure I will listen again.

I for one had never even heard of King Boris the third. I’m not much of a World War II historian and so this podcast was an eye-opening event for me. The research was excellent. The storytelling was engaging and every minute was enjoyable. Highly recommended.

One of very few podcasts I listened to the second it dropped! I’m devastated to have reached the last episode, I might have to listen a second time. Please PLEASE do more of this, Becky can tell me any historical tale she wants!

One of my favorite podcasts ever!! Funny delivery and super interesting history- something I had no idea about and have enjoyed teaching my grandfather what I’ve learned from listening. Everything about the delivery and subject matter is so, so good. Please make more like this!!

The geo-political intrigue is as palpable as it is convoluted. Great work!

Excellent series but can’t find final episode 8?

I don’t have much interest in history, and this isn’t a typical ‘true crime’ podcast (my Go To genre)… but oh my god, this show is brilliant. The research is top notch, the delivery is superb (the dry Brit sense of humour shines through), the tone is ‘light’ and easy to listen to, and the...Read full review »

One of the best historical podcasts I’ve heard yet. Fascinating story, well told, and deeply researched. Anyone with an interest in European history, WWII, Bulgaria, or international intrigue of any type, will love this podcast. Highly recommended!

This story is just so captivating and I’m surprised that no one has heard of it. The podcast is well written and well produced. I can’t wait for more weekly episodes.

If Becky Milligan would have been my history teacher, I might have actually paid attention. Interesting story told in an informative but fun way. The sound mixing is great and I enjoy the banter between Becky and EJ.

I was pleasantly surprised by this podcast. I love WWII history and I did not know this story about Bulgaria and its involvement in the war so this was very interesting and engaging.

Once again, Exactly Right throws us a curve and serves up a delightful fresh take on the historical world of the King of Bulgaria during WW2. Lovely podcasters explaining history and why it all matters.

I do appreciate that some solid research and writing work went into this podcast but the storytelling structure is slow and awkward. On top of that, the alliance with Axis Germany is acknowledged, it is not explored enough. And not explored from an objective point of view that the material...Read full review »

The first episode starts off a little slow. I didn’t enjoy how some parts of the story were ordered, and it made understanding the setting of the story a little confusing. However, the podcast quickly picks up from there, reminding me of the first season of Serial, both in the unfolding and in...Read full review »

I’m a lot dismayed by the lack of enthusiasm for declassified WW2 documentation on the part of our self described seasoned BBC news journalist. She literally poo poos the archives in the second episode by asking if there’s any value in going into these documents to find out information…. What?!...Read full review »
