“My favorite of the four seasons is the Charles Dexter Ward one. There are a lot of things to like about it. The mystery is compelling, the characters are great, and the way that the story is modernized is quite interesting as well. I like how the writers add new things that modern audiences would find more frightening. I loved the creepy cassette interviews with young Charles Dexter Ward. A very spooky and compelling listen. The second and third seasons are still good, but not quite as good. I don’t really like the fact that all of the seasons are connected and there’s one big epic story going on. I think it would have benefited the series better as a whole if each season was a standalone story. However, we get back on track in series four. Sure, the episodes are shorter, but they still have the same amount of creepiness. There are some great twists and turns, and great drama among the characters, exploring the consequences of what happened at the end of season three, which I will not spoil here. There is also some really interesting social commentary. The final episode, however, leaves more questions than answers. I am hoping for a new season!”
