Incisive Discussion of Mazin’s Chernobyl
This podcast wonderfully complements the HBO series, which documents the complicated events surrounding the inexplicable explosion at nuclear reactor #4 and the effects of that explosion on the lives of the citizens of Pripyat. HBO consistently delivers good shows; Chernobyl additionally delivers a philosophical content beyond just good storytelling. The podcast serves to provide pieces of narratives that we may have missed during the show; it also poses questions about what constitutes heroic behavior. One question I found myself asking, “Are heroism and a desire for self-preservation mutually exclusive?”
