“I’m rating the podcast content, not the HBO miniseries, which is masterful. The podcast is dreadful.
I truly hated Sagal’s embarrassing, clumsy allusion to Trump’s presidency after discussing some of the events at Chernobyl. I think his comedic, halting style is perfect for “Wait, wait...” But not here. Not even close. And yes, Peter, we know you’re connected to theater. Why did you have to make this podcast anything about you at all?
If they wanted someone from NPR, there are many, many better choices.
The HBO miniseries is beautiful, horrific, compelling. I’m enthralled. I can’t stop rewatching it. I’m just not doing this podcast.”
