Well done HBO and Craig Mazin
This is a perfect companion to the series. I was alive and remember Chernobyl pretty well and the episode had some confusing aspects to it. The podcast clears up (for me) many of the questions I had after the episode. When I watch a docudrama, I almost always immediately want to know what is a true account and what is “Hollywood” with this podcast I get to know the answer to that question almost immediately. The people in charge covered this disaster up so completely in 1986 that those of us alive in the west knew pretty much nothing of what happened and how bad it was. Not long after this accident, the Soviet Union fell and we, as a nation all but forgot about Chernobyl and therefore never really got the entire story until now. If you liked the series episode then I truly recommend you subscribe to the podcast for further clarity and horror of the “cost of lies” Cheers Craig Mazin

Watch the episode first then listen to the podcast. It’s all fascinating for those of us that were alive when it happened.

I’m completely stoked to listen to the rest of this series! It has started strong.

Too bad the listener won’t be allowed, on their own, to recognize any potential parallels between 1986 and...Read full review »
