Funny, smart, seasoned, literate, but
It's not necessary to string us along for three hours by saying you've "got a clip" to play. "Wait till you hear what he said about . . . ." Some day, this school of thought on how to keep audiences from tuning out, based on half-cocked analysis of unreliable data, will be understood for the folly that it is. Play the audio right off the top; give your witty commentary, useful perspective. No need to tease. We'll keep listening after you play the clip. Promise. You're that good! On the other hand, when you repeatedly pretend you're about to play the thing of interest, and repeatedly veer off to talk for twenty minutes about other things, it's more than a little nettlesome, sometimes insulting.
