Civilisations Podcast
I loved Kenneth Clark’s original and, from the evidence of the first BBC 2 programme, I’m going to enjoy the juxtaposition of a different and wider approach from the three eminent historians involved. The podcast is an adept adjunct to the series, interesting and moving in turn and I think that it will establish a personality of its own. At last I’m excited about the telly again!

The presenter is infantile in both her self-absorption (a handwritten letter from Attenborough, pleading her mum by interviewing Mary Beard,) and she is so childish around her interviewees.
