“As a true crime lover, I was disappointed. It’s a fascinating case, but this series feels short and really only skims the surface. It doesn’t centre the victim at all and I don’t feel that I know anything about Shelli after listening to all 8 episodes. The biggest disappointment was the breezy softball interview with the main suspect, who isn’t challenged on any of his claims or lies (she even admits this). I wonder if the series does more harm than good, if the only outcome is the reporter forcing witnesses and family to question or doubt their own memories and accounts.”
